We all want to look fashionable because it affects the way people see you. Although we shouldn’t be judged by the clothes we wear, we usually are. But, that’s not always the reason for being fashionable. In fact, a lot of people want to look good because it boosts their confidence and makes them feel good.
That’s why we always try to create a trendy look by combining clothes, shoes, and accessories. For example, when we go to work, we tend to combine a classic white shirt, pants, and jacket with a watch. It’s because watches for men and women are a crucial asset which makes them look professional.
However, we all make fashion mistakes no matter how hard we try to create a great look. And, that’s ok because we learn from mistakes. So, here are the five most common fashion mistakes you can learn from.

1.Wearing Oversized Clothes
While oversized jumpers are great for the cold autumn and winter day, it doesn’t mean that every piece of clothing should be baggy. It’s because clothes that are too big can make you look bad and sloppy. Even if you are trying to hide your body, wearing an item that is too big for you will have the opposite effect because it will emphasize the problem areas and will make the other parts of your body look thick, too.
You can avoid this by getting your clothes, or a particular piece of clothing, tailored with a looser-fitting counterpart. In other words, not all of the clothes you wear should be oversized but either combined with another fitted piece or should be only a bit loose-fitting.
2. Wearing Too Many Colours
Although wearing only black and grey-coloured clothes may create a kind of boring looks, wearing too many different colours makes you look funny. If you love wearing colours, you have to know how to combine them and how many colours are enough. For instance, wearing an orange shirt and navy bottom may look great, but wearing more than two bright colours can make you look rather silly.
In order to avoid that, try to combine one bright with one or two neutral colours. You can also combine two colours which are on the opposite side of the colour wheel. In that way, you will still be able to wear bright colours but be stylish.
3. Wearing Inappropriate Clothes
Everything in life that is too much isn’t OK. The same is in the fashion world. Hence, wearing clothes that are too tight, too colourful, too open, too short or too long isn’t stylish. This especially goes for wearing clothes that uncover more than they cover.
It also refers to clothes that are unsuitable for a certain occasion. For example, you can’t wear sports clothes when going on a job interview or suit for an outdoor team building. It’s simply not suitable for the event.
In order to avoid this, you should always think of the occasion you are preparing for. Namely, if you are going to work, you should wear classic, business clothes like pants, shirt, jacket and shoes. In other words, always wear clothes that are in accordance with the occasion.
4. Wearing Dirty Or Wrong Footwear
Well, frankly, we have all left our home without cleaning our shoes at least once in our life. Although this happens often, we need to make sure it doesn’t repeat anymore. This is because wearing dirty footwear creates an impression that you don’t care how you look no matter how hard to tried to combine the right outfit.
Also, wearing footwear that doesn’t match your clothes, you may look silly. So, forget about wearing socks with sandals or sneakers with your business suit. Instead, choose shoes that complement your clothes and are suitable for the occasion.
5. Not Wearing Accessories
Accessories have always been, are, and always will be a must-have. Forgetting to add even a small and simple accessory, such as a watch or a scarf, will make your outfit look incomplete. They are what it’s referred to as a “final touch” to a look because they give life, variety, and style to the outfit.
Contrary to the popular belief that being fashionable is hard, it’s not. All you have to do is to learn how to combine clothes according to the occasion, how to match colours, and how to complement them with accessories to create a stylish look.
